ferryireland.com is an independent comparison and information guide to ferry connections to Ireland. It covers direct routes from Cherbourg, Roscoff and Dunkirk, from Bilbao across the Bay of Biscay, and the shorter crossings via England and Wales from Holyhead, Fishguard and Pembroke to Dublin, Rosslare and Cork. Several operators serve these routes, including Irish Ferries, Stena Line, Brittany Ferries and DFDS. We are not an operator or any of those companies; we compare their services.

A ferry journey to Ireland involves choosing the whole route, not just one ship. Direct sailings from Cherbourg, Roscoff, Dunkirk and Bilbao are long crossings, but avoid driving through Great Britain and the formalities that have applied since Brexit. The route through England and Wales uses short sea crossings, but requires two ferries, a drive across the country and two sets of rules. We compare both options by journey time, ports and operator and cover vehicle and pet questions that differ between a Bay of Biscay sailing and a short crossing.
